Ice Cold Customs Founder Featured in Northwest Florida Daily for Bringing "Big Wheels" to Florida

Walton Beach, Fla. (PRWEB) June 8, 2008 -- The founder of Ice Cold Customs, Albert Mercado, was recently featured in the Northwest Florida Daily newspaper for his influences on the hot rod scene in Walton Beach, Florida.

Mercado's shop, Ice Cold Customs, is the home of the "Big Wheel," a type of hot rod that typically has 32-inch rims, glossy, candy-colored paint jobs and custom fiberglass interiors with flat screen TV's, video game systems and specialty sound systems.

Recently, Mercado had one customer who spent about $100,000 to "trick out" his 1975 Chevy Capri convertible. A set of 32- inch tires alone cost more than $20,000.

"It's all a friendly competition," said Mercado, who owns Ice Cold Customs.

Cars that Mercado and his team at Ice Cold Customs have been featured recently in a car magazine, Donk Box and Bubbles, and have garnered Mercado even more attention. He's also been featured in Big Wheel videos showcasing the trend.
